Making Play-doh

Braden and I made play-doh last week for fun.  Braden really loved it; he played with the play-doh for an hour.  Emma Kate enjoyed experimenting with it too.  It was really her first time playing with play-doh so, I now have some dried play-doh stuck to my carpet.  Anyone know how to get that out?

Future cook?

Emma Kate is obsessed with my oven mitt.  Any time I have it out she insists on wearing it and walking all over the house.  I think we have a future cook on our hands.  Actually Braden is the one who loves to help me cook and bake, but Emma Kate is a little too young to help out yet.

Who me?

The other day I walked into Emma Kate's room and found her on the floor with all the diapers and wipes spread out.  It was funnier too because of her hair-do which was my fault.  I had just put cream in her hair to help her dry scalp...it all just looked so funny...her hair...diapers and wipes everywhere, I just had to snap a couple of pictures.  This all was probably way more info. than anyone wanted, but there you go.

Fall leaves

I know I'm posting a lot of pictures all at once, but we've been sick and I just haven't had time to post any pictures.  Braden enjoyed the leaves yesterday even though he is still sick.  As you can tell we have a lot of leaves.  It was so fun watching him play and have such a good time.  Now we know what to get him for Christmas.

Thankful

I asked Braden what he was thankful for and wrote his list on leaves that we cut out.  He had a lot of fun trying to cut the leaves out and of course coloring.  Here's a list of all that Braden is thankful for:  Nana, Grandpopi, Mimi, Papa, Daddy, Emma Kate, Aunt Sam, Will, Julie, Walker, Bennett, Ellen, and Jesus.  I was so proud that he came up with this list all on his own.

Wiggles!

Ok, on Friday the Wiggles came in town so we just had to go see them.  Braden wasn't so sure about it all once we got there.  He enjoyed it but he never got out of his seat the whole time and he kept asking why the Wiggles were so loud.  It didn't help that he was sick.  John and I were laughing because it seemed like all the parents were more into it than the kids.  Oh well, we did have fun.

Halloween cuteness!

Braden with his cousins.  Yes, that is Walker in a pink poodle costume.  It was hilarious.
Braden practicing using his sword.

My little flower girl

We had a lot of fun getting dressed up in costume for Halloween.  Braden was a pirate(one of his favorite things right now) and Emma Kate was a flower.  I know they are my kids, but I have to say they both look pretty darn cute.  Braden wanted to have nothing to do with taking pictures though.  We went up to Signal Mountain and ate dinner with all the cousins and then went trick or treating (Signal Mountain always has the good candy).  We didn't get started until it was dark so Braden was a little nervous.  He was glad to be done and go eat candy.  Of course we have busted him twice sneaking candy!

Fall crafts

Braden and I painted a tree in honor of fall and the leaves turning colors.  Braden has been so amazed by all the leaves turning colors and falling off the trees.  We had a lot of fun painting the tree.  There will be more fall crafts to come!

More birthday fun!

As you can tell by the pictures, Emma Kate loved her cupcake!   She didn't hesitate to dig in.   I think in the first picture she had begun to go into a sugar coma.  Now, if I could only get her to eat her veggies like that!

Emma Kate's first birthday

We celebrated Emma Kate's first birthday last weekend.  It was so much fun.  We had a pink and brown extravaganza .  Our sweet neighbor made a dress for her, which you can't see in the pictures, that started the whole pink and brown theme.  Then we found pink and brown polka-dot shoes too!  We went a little crazy.   We were so thankful for all the people that were able to come celebrate with us.  I can't believe my baby is already a year old!

Braden's fist day of preschool

Stopping to look at an ant on his way.

He immediately found a truck to play with when we walked in.  I had to get his attention to say goodbye which he promptly said, "See ya."

Braden had his first day of preschool Tuesday.  It was definitely harder on me than it was on him.  He had a blast.  My little boy is growing up.

GET DADDY!!!

The kids love to climb all over daddy. Okay, Emma Kate is lying down in most of these pics, but she tries.  I promise John is alive in these pictures...it had been a long day.

Bed Head

Emma Kate woke up from her nap the other day with a bad case of bed head so I just had to take a few pictures.  She doesn't seem to mind.  I, of course, had to chase her down and try to tame it!

Pretty pink bow

I put a bow in Emma Kate's hair for the first time yesterday!!  I've been waiting for her hair to get long enough!! I love it...John on the other hand is not so thrilled.  Emma Kate seems to like it or at least tolerate it.
